Made in collaboration with artisan women from Ñocha Malen in Chile’s AraucanÃa region, the Mapuche Pendant Light brings together traditional craft and recycled materials. Each piece is woven using ñocha, a native plant fibre that is hand-harvested, boiled, and dried before being combined with PET bottle strips. The shape is guided by simple wood moulds, but the colour and pattern are left entirely to the maker. The process preserves centuries-old knowledge while exploring new forms and materials.
Each piece is shaped on wood moulds and reflects the individual creativity of its maker, with patterns and colours left open to interpretation. More than a light fixture, the Mapuche collection represents resilience and cultural pride, transforming PET waste into design rooted in place, memory, and meaningful collaboration.
