The Flos Overlap Suspension Pendant Light, designed by Michael Anastassiades in 2018, showcases his refined ability to blend innovation with poetry. The pendant’s internal frame, crafted from white powder-coated steel, is enveloped in a delicate Cocoon resin diffuser, a technique first pioneered by Flos in the 1960s. The result is a sculptural form that diffuses light with a soft, ethereal quality, transforming the atmosphere of any space it inhabits.

A transparent protective layer is sprayed over the resin for durability and finish, while the polished, gold-plated galvanic steel detailing adds a subtle note of luxury. The die-cast Zama rose, also finished in polished gold plate, completes the composition with precision. Overlap’s layered form and tactile surface invite both light and shadow to interact, creating a pendant that feels at once modern and timeless, a continuation of Flos’ legacy of material experimentation and exquisite craftsmanship.
