Bitossi Vaso Serie Lava Smalto Verde M. A Fasce

The Vaso Serie Lava Smalto Verde M. a Fasce is a tall, sculptural ceramic vase originally designed by Aldo Londi in 1967. Composed of two wheel-thrown elements in red clay, the form is defined by its bold silhouette and rhythmic surface decoration. The exterior features horizontal bands of glossy green, bluette, and black lava glaze, applied in alternating layers to create a rich visual texture. This striking use of colour and form is characteristic of Londi’s mid-century work, where traditional techniques were reinterpreted through a modernist lens.

Reissued in 2017 as part of the Riedizioni Archivio Storico collection, this edition is limited to 199 pieces. Each vase is handmade in Montelupo Fiorentino, Italy, and faithfully reproduces the original model preserved in the Bitossi Museum Archive. It is marked with its archival inventory number and the historic “Cav. G. Bitossi & Figli” name at the base.
