Bitossi Figura Leone

The Figura Leone is a ceramic lion designed by Aldo Londi for the Rimini Blu collection. Its stylised form features a broad, squared head and compact body, brought to life through a dense surface of engraved motifs. These patterns, applied by stencil, combine geometric and abstract elements that wrap the figure in rhythmic bands. The vivid turquoise glaze, layered over hand-brushed cobalt accents, creates a rich, shifting play of light that enhances the lion’s sculptural presence and reflects the coastal inspiration behind the series.

Each Leone is pressed in white refractory clay and hand-finished by Bitossi’s artisans in Montelupo, Italy. The decoration is engraved while the clay is still soft, then glazed and fired to reveal the full depth of colour and texture.
